Lately the pull of pastels and bright contrasting colors have been inviting me to enter new ways of creating an emotional experience. My pieces hold space for both beauty and pain, healing and deep cuts, as it unravels my story of a rising phoenix. This year I want my work to take you to the new places my phoenix lands for the first time. The story of Frida has also anchored me as an artist relating to her tenacity yet soft boldness. Furthermore, my work has been birthed from becoming intimate with my Creator and allowing my soul to play or murmur within my images. I have surrendered to the creative beast that gnaws at my heart like an animal tugging on my sleeve or pant leg; eager to explore and to live fearlessly. When authenticity has a place to live in my art, I find a freedom and peace nothing can touch. I also allow my innate connection with music, unbridled moments, and observing light breaking through darkness influence my work to its fullest.
